Attention:
Commercial property owners, industrial businesses, property developers, and project management parties
Please note the following changes:
- Levy rates will be adjusted
- The levy calculation method will change from being based on Indemnity Value to Sum Insured
- Updates will apply to multiple levy-exempt property categories
- This levy is imposed under government legislation and is not an additional fee charged by insurers or insurance brokers
Policy Change Details
- Motor Vehicles: Fixed annual fire levy of $25 per vehicle/year
- Residential Homes: Reduced to $107.40
- Residential Contents: Reduced to $21.48
- Non-residential Properties: Sum Insured × 0.0776% (no upper limit)
- Forestry: Sum Insured × 0.0194%
- Livestock: Sum Insured × 0.0194%
- Aircraft: Sum Insured × 0.0776%, capped at $77.60
- Property insured under Contract Works policies: Sum Insured × 0.0388%, equivalent to 50% of the standard non-residential levy rate
Levy-Exempt Property Categories Include: Military property, mining and tunnel works, dams, reservoirs, drainage or water infrastructure, offshore facilities, etc.
